The Property
Designed in 1954 by Donald Wexler and Richard Harrison, this Old Las Palmas residence is one of the defining works of Palm Springs modernism. Its post-and-beam frame, walls of glass, and quiet stone masonry remain true to the original design.
For four decades it was the family home of Kirk Douglas, who gathered here each winter with Anne and their children. The tennis pavilion still carries the posters and signatures of the guests who passed through.
In 2020 the City of Palm Springs designated the property a Class 1 Historic Resource. It has never been offered as a public rental, and it is now available privately to a small circle of guests for stays, private events, and tours.
